During the high-level panel discussion on “Driving Asia’s Mobility Transition,” Mr. Somboon Lertsuwannaroj, Chief Executive Officer of Altervim, shared the company’s strategic approach to accelerating clean mobility in Thailand and beyond.

“We are proud to leverage the unique advantage of being part of the CP Group, which operates one of the most extensive and accessible retail networks in Thailand—including 7-Eleven, Lotus’s, and Makro stores—reaching deep into communities nationwide,” said Mr. Somboon. “This strategic footprint gives us a powerful platform to launch and scale our EV charging network.”

Altervim has already deployed 400 EV charging points across Thailand by utilizing big data analytics — covering traffic flows, consumer behavior, and regional movement patterns. This data-driven approach has enabled Altervim to achieve one of the highest utilization rates in the market, despite being in the early stages of network expansion.

Beyond EV charging, Altervim is also leading the transformation of CP Group’s logistics operations by shifting its fleet of ICE trucks to electric vehicles. This move aligns with the rapid growth of last-mile delivery, which is playing a significant role in Southeast Asia’s evolving retail landscape.

“Our vision goes beyond infrastructure,” added Mr. Somboon. “We aim to transform retail stores and warehouses into community energy hubs—equipped with solar rooftops and battery systems, becoming mini clean energy grids. These hubs will not only power themselves but also provide clean energy for EV logistics fleets and passenger vehicles in the surrounding community.”

“This integrated approach—combining data, local infrastructure, and clean energy—underpins Altervim’s belief in delivering a genuine energy transition for the mobility sector”
