In an era where every industry is transitioning toward sustainability, Solar Fishery — an integrated solar-powered aquaculture system — is emerging as a transformative solution for Thailand’s fishery sector. This innovative approach combines clean energy technology with aquaculture operations, creating harmony between energy, ecosystem, and economy.

The concept reflects the principle of “maximizing land use value” by installing solar panels above fish or shrimp ponds to generate renewable electricity for on-site operations — such as water pumps, aerators, and temperature control systems. This not only reduces energy costs but also maintains ecological balance within the ponds.

As a clean energy company under Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), Altervim has partnered with CPF (Charoen Pokphand Foods) to install Solar Fishery systems across multiple aquaculture farms nationwide — with a total of 6 projects generating over 2.44 megawatts of clean energy.

These projects help CPF’s farms shift to renewable energy, significantly lowering electricity bills, production costs, and carbon emissions by 3,165 tons Co2e — perfectly aligning with CP Group’s goals of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050.

For CP Group, solar power is more than a trend — it is a core strategy in reducing fossil fuel dependency. The expansion of Solar Fishery projects by Altervim stands as a key enabler driving the Group’s sustainability goals into tangible results.

Guided by the vision of “One Land, Two Values” — generating both clean energy and aquatic yield — Solar Fishery represents the future of sustainable aquaculture, where technology and nature thrive in balance.

Through this initiative, Altervim reaffirms CP Group’s commitment to growing business hand in hand with environmental stewardship, paving the way for a cleaner, more resilient future for Thailand’s fishery sector.
